[He definitely echoes Minato's sentiments on this entire situation being awful, and his demeanor reflects that. Even a while after the announcement occurs, he looks downtrodden, though he tries to push some of that away when he sees the other boy.]
Hey. [...] You can just call me Hunter, you know. More importantly, though, are you...?
I just keep thinking... that at least we'll probably still be able to talk to him after this. [...] But maybe trying to find a silver lining is messed up.
[Things have been hectic since Monday, but... Upon seeing Minato, there's a surge of guilt upon not seeking him out earlier. The other side of that, however, is that he's nodding immediately.]
[Minato has absolutely no such qualms, it seems; he seems to have recovered a fair amount since Monday (or he's just not thinking about it, who knows), so..... here we are...!!]
I've never been to an aquarium before, so it sounded kind of fun.
[It's...still odd, to push his way through the door like this as if it isn't even there, to step into Hunter's room as easily as that. He's... no stranger to death, but he's never been a ghost like this.
[When Minato enters into Hunter's room today, there isn't much to see. Hunter's seated on his bed, looking numb more than exhausted, just looking at a spot on the wall.
He doesn't seem too be too visibly distressed, but he does seem a bit blank at the moment.]
[He notices the note moving on it's own, glancing at it before speaking. His voice sounds a little weak, and if Minato is perceptive, he might notice a lingering redness around the other boy's eyes. Still, he nods at the question.]
week 3, friday
Still, he's Minato; he can't help but wander the resort, trying to lowkey check on everyone as he goes, a piece of paper held carefully in one hand.
So...when he spies Hunter, he pauses.
Just long enough--he'll just see how he's doing, and then he'll move on, he thinks.]
Hey... Hunter-san.

Hey. [...] You can just call me Hunter, you know. More importantly, though, are you...?
no subject
I'll try to remember.
[Ruefully...]
Um... I'm okay. [...] As...okay as we can be in a situation like this, you know...? What about you?
no subject
I just keep thinking... that at least we'll probably still be able to talk to him after this. [...] But maybe trying to find a silver lining is messed up.
no subject
No... I don't think so. I think...we have to do anything that helps us here, you know?
It's only human to do that.
no subject
[He isn't sure whether or not he agrees with that, but all the same, he moves on quickly.]
Were you good friends with him?
no subject
[A small, rueful smile.]
But I wanted him to fee better about himself. And... now he doesn't really have that chance, you know?
[It's pretty heartbreaking.]

week 5, wednesday
Because Minato's here, wherever you are, to reach out and:]
Hey, Hunter, do you have a minute?
no subject
Yeah, totally. What's up?
no subject
[Minato has absolutely no such qualms, it seems; he seems to have recovered a fair amount since Monday (or he's just not thinking about it, who knows), so..... here we are...!!]
I've never been to an aquarium before, so it sounded kind of fun.
no subject
Yeah, that sounds nice. There's a really cool aquarium in Toronto... I haven't been in ages. It might be nostalgic.
no subject
[Toronto seems soooo far away to him.]
no subject
The city, or the aquarium itself?

week 5, friday
Hey. Are you okay? It's Minato--I'm doing okay, so... hang in there, okay?
no subject
i should be the one asking you that
although are you actually in the room or do you want me to keep texting you
no subject
It's weird to just barge into peoples' rooms, I think, without permission.
no subject
i’m sure there’s a lot of people you want to be nearby
no subject
I want to.
I'll be there soon.
[It's...still odd, to push his way through the door like this as if it isn't even there, to step into Hunter's room as easily as that. He's... no stranger to death, but he's never been a ghost like this.
Another message--]
I'm here. We can talk normally. [...] Ish.
no subject
I wasn’t kidding when I said I should be the one asking you if you’re okay.

week five, saturday
He doesn't seem too be too visibly distressed, but he does seem a bit blank at the moment.]

Minato slips in quietly, and while he's exhausted and worried and tired... this has to happen.
Which is why, instead of a message, Hunter is getting a sticky note, gently stuck to the bed in front of him. And, in carefully written English:]
It's Minato. Are you okay?
no subject
Yeah, I... I'm fine. What about you?
no subject
After a moment, written carefully beneath the first line on the note:]
I'm okay. Are you sure you're fine? You look like a mess.
no subject
[He rubs at his face, shaking his head.]
Are you sure? I mean, you and Makoto were...
no subject
Makoto's with me. That helps. So I'm more worried about you, right now, because you guys have it way harder out there.
