[Video] 001 ☽
[At first, when your SFC clicks on, all that can be seen is blue--the blue of the ocean above the barrier. The video seems to be...rocking back and forth, slowly, and the gentle slap slap slap of what might be...small waves...? against something can be heard.
A long pause.
Then the video shifts and changes before settling on a young man who seems to be...lying down, holding the SFC up, peering at it.
A red light...?]
...It's recording...?
[A puzzled (and slightly soggy) blink, and he begins to sit up.]
Why am I on a boat--
[Too late. His sitting up tilts the small boat off balance.
Tilting--
Splash!
...oops.
ooc: feel free to respond with either video or action, guys!]

[Action]
That's a relief.
[...]
You mentioned a crisis. What happens at night?
[Action]
This never happened before. But— [he stopped talking and walking, just so he could face a particular direction then pointed out towards where the crashed pirate ship is]
That ship... It's haunted. It attacked us a few days ago and crashed unto the barrier. It's been stuck like that since then and at night, ghost pirates would roam and harm people.
[Action]
Huh. That's not something you see everyday. Still, a pirate ship is a bit difficult to get rid of.]
Has anyone found a way to stop it from happening?
[Action] Sorry this took so long!
[Action] It's no problem, dear. <333
There will be a way to stop it. We just need to find it.
[Action] <333 ;w;
You're right... I'm sure that things will be okay.
[Action]
But if it's filled with people as friendly as Red, why not? And so he nods, smiling lightly.]
I take it the pirates are a new thing, then, Red-san?
[Action]
... It's a new thing, yeah. There's always something new happening here. You can read about all that in the brochure.
Actually, you're the first one I've given this version. Someone made a brochure months ago, but it hasn't been updated and that person was often a victim of this world's tricks. He'd come and go constantly.
I decided to rewrite the brochure, so I hope it makes sense...
[Action]
It looks well-written to me, Red-san. If you'd like, I can look it over when we get there? After all, from the perspective of someone new, I can let you know if it is helpful.
[The smile suggests he knows it will be.]
[Action]
The small surprise was on Red's face for a second, then he smiled out happily. It would definitely be a huge help to him, too. He can't really tell if it was useful or not... But the compliment and the smile did encourage him.]
... Thank you.
[Action]
No need to thank me. You're doing a good service for everyone who arrives here, right?
If you ever need any other help with it, I'd be happy to help out in any way, if I can.
[Action]
[He lowered his head a bit, but he still continued to smile.]
This is the first time I'm doing something like this, too. I don't really know how to go about it to implement it formally... I'm just casually handing out baskets for now.
It would be nice if others also started doing it, not just me.
[Action]
I can help distribute them, if you'd like. It'd be more efficient, and we'd be less likely to miss someone with more people handing them out.
[Action]
... Minato. I'm glad I met you.
[Action]
I was here before, wasn't I?
[...]
Would you like to continue where we left off before, Red-san? I can't say I remember, but I can imagine what I've missed.
[A soft laugh, almost a 'heh'.]
Let's make up for lost time, shall we?
[Action]
Upon Minato's realization, Red couldn't say anything against it. He was never the type to lie and... these words felt so familiar and warm. It's not a bad thing. But he didn't want Minato to think it's anything bad or it's his responsibility now that he can't remember. Red paused a bit, watched how Minato laugh and...
He nodded once, twice...
All the while, he kept his own smile, but his eyes closed now and he wiped the edges of his own eyes with a finger.]
... But, how were you able to tell?
[Action]
Well, other than the fact that you knew my name--
...It felt familiar. It feels as though...we could have been friends.
[Does he sound crazy? It seems...reasonable to him, truly, after everything he has experienced.]
I'm sorry that I don't entirely remember. But...perhaps we can catch up?
[Action]
It's not your fault. And I'm happy that you still want to be friends. You haven't changed at all... I'm really, really happy.
[Action]
That was nice. It really did feel...like he was with a friend, not a stranger. He hugs him back, before releasing Red and offering a bit of amusement.]
I'm glad that we were given this chance to continue being friends.
Should we keep going before it gets to be nighttime, Red-kun?
[But the change in honorific means everything, really.
That social link just grew by like, three.][Action]
Yes... Let's run a little. It's almost time. We'll be safe in the shelter.
[They needed time. Well, Minato did. He still has to read the brochure properly and adjust himself completely here... Red's worried about him catching a cold too or being hungry at the moment.
He held a part of Minato's sleeve, then began to lead the other boy with him in faint haste this time.]
[Action]
[Action]
They continued to walk for a bit longer, then eventually arrived at the room where Red was staying.]
I'll go pick up some clothes for you first...
[Action]
Thank you. Should I come with you?
[Do you want company?]
