[This is a tired Minato on your SFCs today, Vatheon. It's been a few days, but what could he do? Pull people out of their safety to ask them to help him? Distract from the effort to save the city because he has a somewhat selfish request to make?

*Selphie bit her lip - but she wants to help, Minato! She wants to be useful, and distracted!*

Adachi... He was really good to me. He's really...just gone home?

*Not another one. Please, not another one. Selphie's not sure she can take much more disappearing*

I think so. I noticed he was missing before the invasion. He seems to have gone home.

*Selphie hunches her shoulders, not looking into the SFC now*

*Because, believe it or not, Selphie equates safety with Adachi*

*Selphie gave a small smile - almost nostalgic, like she knew she'd never see Adachi again*

[...Minato knew him as a slightly odd man, a liar and a fake but someone worth knowing despite this.

I see. I did know him well. It's unfortunate that he's gone home, but...maybe he'll come back. It's happened before, hasn't it?

*Selphie inwardly flinches - something tells her that Minato doesn't quite agree. She bites her lip, giving a pleading look*

...you didn't like him?

[He blinks.]

Of course I liked him. He was my friend as well.

[He just wasn't taken in by Adachi's lies either.]

*Selphie sighed and blinked hard into the SFC*

Minato... what if... everyone just leaves?

[...ah. He shakes his head, expression growing more certain.]

We will all go home eventually.

But you have friends back home, don't you? That's nothing to be afraid of. We just need to enjoy the time we have together until we do end up going home.

But I promise you won't be left here alone.

*She bites her lip gently and glances away, looking a little sullen*

But that's what everyone says... How do they really know...?

I know because I know you will always have friends with you.

Because I have faith that we'll be able to stay together as long as we need to. Sometimes it's impossible to explain, but we shouldn't dread the future. We should enjoy the present that we have.

*Selphie turns back to face him then, her eyes wide, looking for an honest answer*

Are you enjoying the present, right now?

[And he answers honestly, nodding slowly.]

Things are hard right now...but I'm still grateful for the chances we have right now.

*Selphie bit her lip and gazed back at Minato*

*Selphie gave a tilted kind of smile*

*It was a lovely compliment, really. But it didn't do much, if anything, to change Selphie's expression. She just smiled as usual and gave a small shrug*
