[Video] 004 ☽
[He's been given so much to think about these days. After his talk with Akito, that negativity, while not necessarily dampening his spirit, did get to him somewhat. To think that people still thought that way...it was a little frustrating, after everything he had fought for--
And then...A parrot and a missing name on the contact's list. It's little wonder his expression is contemplative, bordering a little, perhaps, on quietly sad.
It isn't like him to use his SFC, no, except for answering other's calls or privately calling others, but this is something he needs to do.
And perhaps...well, loneliness is something that he doesn't much deal with, normally, but even for someone like him, to lose is lonely. No matter how much he gets used to it.
But when he turns to the screen, his expression is as calm as always. There is...also a yellow parrot on his shoulder, which might be familiar to anyone who knew a [Bad username or site: treasurehunted title= @ livejournal.com]. The parrot seems to find picking up strands of blue hair and dropping them entertaining, so that is what it is doing.
Minato doesn't seem to mind--or at least, he ignores it.]
Is anyone familiar with how to take care of large birds?
[He tilts his head, shifting--the parrot squawks before steadying itself from the movement.]
Any advice would be appreciated.
[He hesitates a moment more--it's his duty to look after this parrot, right? If...aniki is gone, as it seems to be.
And then a flap of large wings--the bird is rather too large to sit comfortable on Minato's small frame--and he fumbles with the SFC as a result--]
Ah--
[And the feed clicks off.
Oops?]

The SFC drops as the bird takes off with a squawk, feathers flying everywhere.
Clatter.
Give him a moment, Renton. He's rather sure the bird did that just to be a pain. :|
A few moments later he picks up the SFC, sans bird.]
I'm sorry about that, Renton-kun. But that's good news. You've met up with her, then?
no subject
[Quick bow of his head, before he snaps back up, smiling.]
Yeah! It's like I told everyone: we're always together for these kinds of things.
no subject
[ :|;;
But he nods--that sort of faith is nice to hear from someone. It reminds him of his own bonds with SEES.]
That's good to hear. Maybe now you can enjoy your time here more than just running around looking for her.
[Hint hint.]
no subject
[Because he could've sworn someone else had a very, very similar parrot.
He nods.]
Mmm! I guess it's been a nice break from everything so far, though I feel a little bad for just lazing around like this...
[... Hey.]
no subject
No. He isn't. He...belonged to someone else who was here.
[You got that right, Renton.
...pfff.]
It sounds as though you've been through a lot and deserve the break.
[It's an open invitation--Renton can talk about it or not; Minato is there to listen either way.]
no subject
[His expression becomes pensive.]
I guess... But everyone else is also giving it their best, so...! Even if time doesn't pass back home, it feels strange to be doing nothing here.
no subject
You knew him?
[Which is, of course, a yes.]
And that is true. You could always find something worthwhile to do while you're here. Perhaps you and Eureka both.
[c:]
no subject
[Even if he teased. A lot.]
H-Huh? [Dx] That's true, but even if you say that...
[Durrrrrrr what is dating.]
no subject
[It's a sort of wry amusement. But--]
Unfortunately, he's gone home now.
[He has to be the bearer of bad news, since he is the one to have noticed and made this broadcast. It's his responsibility.
But then he focuses on the next part. Hey now, it didn't have to be something like that. And so he continues calmly.]
Maybe working together on a task, for example, or finding a job together.
no subject
[There's a flicker of melancholy—because he liked him, really—before he smiles softly.]
But there's a chance he might come back, right? So all we have to do until then is believe.
[That's what he's been taught, after all.]
... Oh yeah, I guess we should find jobs, huh? Can't be broke all the time like before...
no subject
Yes, it's possible. I came back myself, after going home. Hopefully he'll return soon.
[At least for the parrot's sake, right? Which is currently grooming himself on Minato's bed.]
...Like before? But if you want one, it isn't difficult to find work here. The natives are generally happy to have help.
no subject
[... And even though he had to wait years, it came true.
A sheepish laugh.]
Back home we were part of a crew, and there was never enough money to go around.
no subject
That's good advice. I won't give up.
[It's the least he can do, really.]
Ah, really? That sounds tough. You were part of a crew...?
no subject
It's easier to just give up sometimes, but...
[At the question, he nods again, but this time with more enthusiasm.
... Worry crosses his face for a moment, though, before he smiles.]
Yeah! We're called the Gekkostate.
no subject
And so he simply nods, turning his attention to the other.]
Gekkostate...? I've never heard of it--not that that's very surprising.
no subject
Likewise.]
Well, we're pretty famous back home! But not famous enough to transcend worlds, I guess...
[He laughs sheepishly.]
no subject
It would be stranger if you did manage to transcend worlds and times, don't you think?
But famous? What for?
no subject
[...]
Minato, you're not involved with the government or military or anything like that, right...?
no subject
No, I'm not. Why do you ask?
[Are you pirate, Renton-kun? :|a]
no subject
He takes in a breath.]
We're an outlaw group, fighting against the military. Well, it's not that we're really trying to fight against them—more like we're trying to spread the truth! But there's someone within the military who doesn't want that, so...
no subject
It sounds like the military has been corrupted a little, then--at least, unknowingly.
What truth are you trying to spread...?
no subject
[A pause]
A lot of it has to do with what I told you before, though—about our planet really being Earth.
no subject
no subject
[He thinks for a moment, trying to decide where to start.]
Minato... do you think humans can coexist with another intelligent life form?
no subject
[Is that what he was asking...?]
