[Video] 006 ☽
[So amidst all of the insanity? The kraken attack and the craziness? There is Minato making an oh-so necessary broadcast. He seems to be leaning against the side of a building, but despite the crashing of what must be tentacles and the panicked atmosphere, he looks pretty calm. Is that blood on his temple...? Oh maybe. And he might be holding his torso, but details.
Crash. He blinks, glancing up for a moment, before shaking his head slightly.]
It seems like the kraken's tentacles completely surround the bubble. If you're looking for a safe place to go, the caverns beneath the church's ruins should be safe from the tentacles. At the very least, the people who can't fight and the injured can go there.
[A breath--is that a wince? Nah, can't be.]
If you need any help, let me know. The Defense Force should be able to help.
[That's what they're for, right? Another flash of a wince and he sets up a filter.
Filter to: Defense Forceyou know who you are]
Focus on the center bubble for now. We have to take care of the people who can't defend themselves. Will anyone volunteer to keep guard underground, in case there is something still down there...?
[Filter to: Hubert]
Hubert-san. Are you alright? I need your help with something.
[Filter to: SEES/all of you P3 people]
Stick together. We know that we can take them on together, but separating is too dangerous.
[It seems like common sense--but he remembers what happened to Aigis, So he just had to be sure. And then he turns off the filter and--fails to turn off the feed. He is looking around when a tentacle crashes down nearby. He jumps, cringing in what seems to be pain and slumps back against the wall, dropping the SFC. Clatter clatter.

...Of course. If you were trying to scare me away and convince me that you were a monster, you wouldn't tell me that you have people to take care of.
Anyway...only someone who has something really important to protect fights so hard.
no subject
[... He really just wants Minato to hate him, so that he can believe that he's like everyone else.]
no subject
But Tiir-san.
You're the one who told me that you have something important to take care of.
no subject
That doesn't mean you know a single thing about me.
no subject
I suppose I only know what you've told me.
no subject
no subject
I suppose so.
If I tell you my presumptions, Tiir-san...will you tell me which I'm wrong on? I would hate to assume wrongly about you.
no subject
There's silence, before—]
Very well.
no subject
You mentioned...that you had something really important to return to and fight for, so I just...thought that you might have people to protect. If humans are so prejudiced and cruel against your kind, you have to protect them from us, right?
[...us. He's never been ashamed of being a human, but what these humans are doing makes him feel pretty sad about it.]
So...of course you can't just forget everything people have done to you. It's not fair to everything that has happened to you. It's not fair when you've obviously been put through a lot.
[He pauses again, considering...And--]
So I suppose, Tiir-san, I just wanted to say that I'm not expecting anything from you. Because...if anything, I owe you for what my race has done.
[1/2]
For a moment, Tiir's expression falters, and his uncertainty flickers across his face—]
[2/2]
He doesn't trust humans. Shouldn't, won't, can't. He's known for most of his life, after all—that no matter how much he cries, his words won't ever reach anyone. And so, regardless of how well Minato can read him, how tempting it is to believe in him... he won't.
And so, even though he won't admit it, it hurts because a part of him wants to.]
Something like that... ah, how casually you say it.
[...]
But even if you think you're being sincere, it won't last.
no subject
...huh. Would this be considered a rank up?]
It won't...?
You still think I'll go back on my word, then?
no subject
Of course. You're a human and I'm a 'monster'. In the end, one way or another, you'll find a reason to hate me—a reason to want me dead.
no subject
He shakes his head.]
Tiir-san...please don't call yourself that.
[He'll address the rest later but he doesn't like it when Tiir calls himself a monster because--]
It's not true.
no subject
Oh? I'm simply using the name that humans like you gave me.
[Whether he considers himself one or not is an entirely different matter—and if you were to ask him, he'd say no.]
no subject
How about utterly frankly?]
You can call yourself whatever you want to...but calling yourself a monster is lying.
You have a name. Others should use that--not "monster".
no subject
[Heh.]
You're expecting far too much from humans. Either way... 'monster', 'Iino Doue'—it doesn't matter what they call me. What they think of me won't change.
At the very least, I'd rather they be forthright with their hatred than try to deceive me with pretty words.
no subject
[...]
You're so willing to fight everything else...why don't you fight how they see you?
no subject
Those lowly humans are the ones who wanted me to be a monster so badly—so why deny them?
no subject
It doesn't have to be that way.
Why do you fight the idea that a human can be different, but not what you are labeled to be?
no subject
no subject
I don't understand, Tiir-san.
I can understand not wanting to set yourself up for disappointment...but if so, why do you allow people to call you by such a terrible title? You shouldn't allow them to do so at all, if you want nothing to do with them.
At least as far as your usage of the word is concerned.

If you truly believe that that would change anything, then you're even more naive than I thought.
