Yes. The answer, in Ouni's mind, is immediately yes. Even though the world didn't turn out to be a place of hope—and is instead a place that has, time and time again, crushed his and the Mud Whale's dreams—his fascination for it continues to burn, like a candle about to smoulder but refusing to die.

Whether it'll ever actually happen, though, is a different story. Out loud, the answer is more complicated than a yes or no. There are too many feelings, too many things he doesn't know how to describe; neither does he want to, to a virtual stranger.

So, he remains silent.]

[The silence is strangely heavy. In truth? Minato has no idea what's going on in Ouni's head. What is he thinking? How does he feel about it? It feels like that one little question somehow has a weight that's hard for Ouni to answer.

He's quiet for a moment in response, expression contemplative--and then quietly, he nods, and:]

If you do, I hope you get the chance to see it someday. And anything else you might want to see, and all of those things that you don't even know you want to see.

[Everyone deserves to do at least that much with his life.]

I know it doesn't mean much when it's just hopes, but... that's what I hope anyway.

[I want to see the outside world. And yet, the more he learns, the more impossible of a dream it becomes. (Even if the people of the Mud Whale find a place to belong... he will never be accepted there. He knows that now—that that is his curse as a Daimonas, whatever that may be.)

He stares at Minato for a few moments, his expression pensive, before he looks away. Quietly, as if to himself,]

It won't happen.

[Hm... Minato's quiet in response, expression just as pensive.

It won't happen, Ouni says...but not that he doesn't want it to happen. In fact, doesn't that pensive expression mean...he wants it to happen?

Ouni wants to see the ocean, and that's... important. Somehow, with what little he knows of Ouni, it feels so important. It's the first time Ouni has expressed any particular desire at all, even if obliquely here--and Minato looks at him seriously.]

There's a way for it to happen.

[Oh.]

I'll admit... I don't know your situation. And if you're so sure...then I'm sure you must be in a really hard situation.

But I still believe that no matter what, there's a way for Ouni-san to see the ocean.

You talk a lot for someone who doesn't know the situation.

[Oh.

Well. At least he won't deny it.]

But...there should always be a way to do what you want to do with your life--especially things like going to see more of the world.

Or even just the ocean.

He doesn't know what to say to that, so after staring at Minato for a moment, he's just

going to walk away.

At a loss for anything else to do, Minato just kind of... lifts a hand out of his pocket and waves as Ouni goes.

Oh well.

At least they talked for a bit longer this time.]

[Later, when it's not cold, Minato will find the blanket dumped on the floor of his house (meaning Ouni technically trespassed but whatever).]
