Thanks. [Izuku quickly fires off a message and looks relieved when he gets something back before long. It's a flurry of quick messages from there before Izuku finally stands up again.]

Okay, she said she's heading over now. Let's wait for her outside.

[He'll shut off the laptop by closing the screen, and then off they go into the outside world to wait for Maribelle... hey Vriska statue, how u doin'.]

[Moments later, Maribelle arrives, staff in hand.]

Now, would someone care to tell me what's going on? I was given quite the scare.

[Yet she speaks as calmly as ever.]

Maribelle-san! [Izuku perks up as soon as he sees her.]

S-sorry, I should've been more clear about what was going on. It's urgent, though.

[And now he nods toward the statue that he and Minato were hovering around.] Um, this is the friend I mentioned. Arisato-kun, do you want to explain what happened?

[What did you even say to her, Izuku...]

This statue here... is my roommate, Vriska. I've tried everything I can, but I can't seem to get her to turn back to normal. I'm sure it's her, though, she's just...

[Been turned to stone.]

[She had assumed this was someone's ghastly idea of artwork. Probably not idea to say that out loud.]

She... she was turned to stone? How is such a thing even possible?

[So that should already signal her magic's going to do bupkis. She swallows, holding out her staff.]

I... I don't believe I can cure her, if this truly is her... but I will try.

[There's a flicker in his expression as his hopes are dashed.]

I-it's still worth a try. Just in case she reacts to another kind of healing magic.

[He's grateful that Maribelle's still willing to make the attempt despite her doubts. It would feel wrong to just leave things like this without giving it a shot.]

I appreciate it, Maribelle-san. If not, it's not your fault.

[After all, they've tried other healing and it hasn't worked, but... with a rueful, worried shrug:]

We thought we should try everything.

[With a sigh, she holds out her staff. It glows faintly, but aside from that, nothing else seems to happen. To her credit, Maribelle does try again, and again, and again, until she breaks into a sweat and has to lower her staff.]

Ugh... A-anymore, and my staff will break in two...

[He holds himself back as she tries again and again, though it's obvious that he wants to say something.]

M-Maribelle-san! [As soon as she stops, though, he takes a few steps toward her, worry written all over his face.] Are you okay?

[Even though he does want Vriska to be healed, he doesn't want it to be at the cost of someone else's health!]

[Oh, yeah, that's no good. Minato's quick to shake his head, worry less pronounced on his face than on Izuku's, but still clearly there.]

Maribelle-san, please rest now...

[He shakes his head.]

Thank you for trying. That's all we could really have asked for.

[She shakes her head, lightly beginning to wipe away some sweat.]

Magic uses energy... Too much in one sitting, and it's like running a hundred miles. I'm afraid, as far as my abilities go, I'm useless here.

Thank you, Maribelle-san. [Izuku echoes Minato's words of gratitude, even as he still hovers in his concern.] For trying so many times.

Do you need anything? We're the ones who asked you to come here, it's only fair we help you if you need something to replenish your energy.

Mm... this is where I live, so I can grab you some water or something if that'll help.

[Maribelle tried her best...and Minato's grateful for that.

Um, I can fetch water from the well? [He shifts from foot to foot, looking anxious to help.]

[While Izuku fetches water, they can at least do that much.]

[While Minato's getting her situated, Izuku dashes off toward the well to fetch some water!!

And he returns with a bucketful of it just a little while later.] Here it is! Sorry it took so long.

[He didn't even think about that; his brow furrows as he thinks. Uh...]

...I'm sure we'll be fine. [Yeah.] I haven't heard of this happening to anyone else yet, so...

[At least, he's hoping so.

But yeah Minato just grabs a clean cup for Maribelle, so Izuku can pour the water into it.]

[By the time he returns, Maribelle has pretty much made herself at home, sitting in a chair, staff propped up against the wall, and she daintily takes the glass when he approaches.]

[Polite, silent sip.]

Do you think we should warn the others, over the forum?

[D-darling??! Don't mind as he quietly freaks out at being called that, face heating up so much there's probably steam coming off of it.

Yeah, he's just... going to stand over here, off to the side with his arms covering his face like that might actually help in any way.
