I'm...just so relieved that you're okay. [When his eyes start welling up with tears, Izuku's not even surprised.]

[He shakes his head quietly. They could go back and forth on the guilt forever--there's no need for that. Instead?]

Thanks... it's good to be back. [A tilt of his head.] Even if I'm still not sure how that could've happened.

[Izuku shuffles back into the room and sits down at the table, gesturing for Minato to do the same. They have a lot to talk about.]

What happened after I...got eaten? That really happened, right? I didn't just imagine it?

[He murmurs that softly...and then shakes his head.]

We looked for you. Dave and I did, I mean. But we couldn't find you anywhere...

[He still has no idea where Izuku went after that.]

I don't understand. [Izuku stares down at his hands--they look normal, especially with the color restored.]

If the shadow ate me... how can I still be here?

[He's not complaining, far from it. But what does this mean?]

You definitely, definitely didn't die. Because you're right here.

[Minato says that firmly, reaching out to gently touch Izuku's shoulder.]

Wherever that shadow took you... that's all it was. It took you away for a bit, but it gave you back.

I should be asking about you and Strider-kun, though. What happened after....I got taken?

And then we had to accept it, and go check on John--Dave was worried.

[Izuku winces. He definitely has a lot to make up for, making his friends worry like that.]

Makes sense. Egbert-kun's his best friend... I'd check on Uraraka-san and the others after something like that happened, too.

[He still feels bad that they couldn't have searched for Izuku more, even though he knows they wouldn't have been able to find him.

It just...feels wrong to leave his friends behind.

But Dave was the one who needed help then--and he knew he had to stay with him (for all the good that had done).]
