[She's in a much better mood, but he isn't.... he's still feeling pretty gnarly and rough, though he's at least had a couple of days to graduate from "vomiting his guts up" to "just really haggard and exhausted".
Which... he doesn't really want to tell her, but on the other hand, he promised...!!
So tiredly, he ends up looking at the message, and finally types out:]
Good to hear from you sannomiya san. Sorry I didn't check in with you first, this week had some kind of unexpected things. how are you?
[... Okay so his typing's sloppier than usual, it's probably fine.]
[Whoops... she picked up on that fast, though he supposes he shouldn't be surprised...she's always seemed sharp. He puts...forth a bit more effort to type properly.]
Don't worry, I'm fine now. One of the potions for the quest reward was a little more dangerous than I expected, that's all.
Minato was at least sane enough to make his way downstairs to make sure he can open it up for her; she doesn't have to wait long before he's opening the door.
And he's alive! But...also very pale and a bit disheveled, leaning against the doorframe a bit (totally casually!!)]
[That paleness definitely gives him away and she isn’t fooled for a second if the way she frowns at him is any indication.]
Didn’t I already say that you don’t have to thank me? Can you stand? Can you walk?
[Because she’s just going to reach out and touch him with one hand, probably the first time she’s ever touched him, the contact light and brief as she tries to nudge him into not leaning so she can walk him back inside and sit him down.]
[He's not generally a very touchy feely person, but because of that, he's definitely noticed that this is the first time Shiho's touched him; it's light and brief, but it does get him to look over at her--and then obediently, he moves back inside. Despite his paleness and clear exhaustion, he's at least able to make it over to the living room and slightly raggedy couch, sitting heavily on it and patting the seat next to him in clear invitation.
Once there, he finally replies:]
I'm okay... mostly. Most of it has already passed.
[Like...the gross part, which he is very glad she was not around for. He offers her a very, very wan smile.]
I'm just tired now, I think... I wasn't ready for it.
[He seems okay from what she can see. Too tired and too pale still, but at least he's alive. The rest they could work on.
Shiho has had practice feigning nonchalance when touching someone and she does that now, intentionally ignoring the way he looks over at her and not letting go until she's certain he's sitting and can stay that way.
Besides, it also gives her a pause before she sits that way if anyone asks, she didn't sit because he invited her to. Her hand is still on his shoulder though as she tries to make sure he really is okay, that the poison hadn't left any bad effects.]
...Is anyone normally ready to be poisoned? And what do you mean "most" of it?
[Probably not, honestly. Minato snorts softly in response, amused--he's having a quiet laugh at his own expensive more than anything, really. Her concern is valid, but it's sweet, too. He feels sincerely touched that she would care to this extent, but... that just means she's a good friend, right?]
I mean that I'm still pretty tired, but I'm definitely okay now. That's all.
[And then he leans back against the couch, tilting his head at her quietly. He's still tired, still a little out of it, but he knows he has to make sure she knows:]
[Shiho can read all that sincerity and honesty directly from him which is one bad thing about psychometry, she supposes. She can use it to see that he really is just tired which is good. But she can't turn it off nor can she block certain things out...]
What, did I look like I would be a bad friend? [As far as comebacks go, it's weak. But it's enough at the moment when she takes her hand back.]
You didn't have to come down and open the door for me, you know... If you're tired, you need to rest. And rehydrate. Do you have water here?
So fussy, but in a very endearing way. He'll let her fuss. It seems like it's making her feel a bit better too, and he feels bad that he's made her worry.]
Mm... I'll rest. But I did want to see you, so I don't mind opening the door.
I think there's still some water...? Stored in the kitchen. [But admittedly he hasn't checked.]
[Yes, next time he will yodel into the void until Shiho shows up.]
... Mm, thanks. I appreciate it.
[Getting better faster is what he'd like to do too, so he will absolutely not refuse the thought of drinking more water; for him, it was mostly the "getting up and getting it" part that's been causing him to hesitate, because standing up is still pretty tough.]
[He goes nowhere!! He remains where he is supposed to be, sitting on the couch like an obedient boy. And there are definitely cups for the water, so when she comes back with it... he just accepts it quietly with a soft:]
Thank you, Sannomiya-san... I feel a little bad that you have to take care of me like this, but...
[Yeah, he just looks puzzled at that. He definitely hasn't pieced together that it's some special power; he just thinks she's good with potions now.]
I mean... anything we might get that we don't know the components of, like those potions. If the town gives us something like that again... do you think you could help me with it?

But it's her job to notice little things like this and even without psychometry she still has eyes. Is he sleepy? Was this a bad time??]
it's fine
i'm fine
what do you mean unexpected things?
what happened?
no subject
Don't worry, I'm fine now. One of the potions for the quest reward was a little more dangerous than I expected, that's all.
no subject
you didn't drink it
did you?
no subject
So.
Yeah, he did.]
I needed to know what it did.......
no subject
The pause really does tell her all she needs to know. He drank it. He actually went and drank some unknown potion.]
you could have asked me!
i
know a bit about potions and medicines
don't drink it?!
no subject
You do? Sorry, Sannomiya-san, I had no idea... I guess I should've brought it to you in the first place.
[TOO LATE NOW he drank the poison.]
no subject
you wouldn't have known
no one knows
where are you right now
i'm coming over
[To check that potion.
But mostly to check him and make sure there aren't any after effects.]
no subject
I'm in Bluo, a few houses down from the harbor.
[Insert a few other landmarks he adds as well, because I've got nothing.
And, tentatively.....]
Thank you for coming.
no subject
i know where that is [She doesn't but psychometry saves the day yet again.]
you don't have to thank me
[And that's all she gets before she's knocking on the door. If there's no response she may just............pick any lock he has and go in anyway.]
no subject

Sannomiya-san... hello. Thanks for coming over.

Sorry, sorry... don't worry. [Don't fuss, Shiho, it's okay.]
I mean that I'm still pretty tired, but I'm definitely okay now. That's all.

...There's nothing to see, I'm exactly the same. Next time just...shout, I guess? [At times like these a cellphone would have been very useful.
Well, that's a thing to worry about another day as she gets up again.]
Let me go get some. Drinking more water will probably help you feel better faster too.
no subject
[Yes, next time he will yodel into the void until Shiho shows up.]
... Mm, thanks. I appreciate it.

Don't go anywhere. [Hopefully there's water and cups and stuff. Either way, she'll figure it out and come back with it.]
no subject
Thank you, Sannomiya-san... I feel a little bad that you have to take care of me like this, but...
[He's still grateful.]
no subject
[Minamoto would probably be better at fussing over him than Shiho would be... but at least he seems to be better?]
And next time make sure there's someone here to take care of you when you're feeling sick.
no subject
No more weird potions. Got it.
[A beat, and he adds:]
You mentioned you know a bit about potions...and things like that. Next time, can I ask you about it?
no subject
[Because she’s still not sold on the idea of telling people about her psychometry unless she was pressed to do it.]
no subject
I mean... anything we might get that we don't know the components of, like those potions. If the town gives us something like that again... do you think you could help me with it?
