[ "grabbing egbert" involved basically just dropping by john's ghostbuster dreams post (nts: mock him about that later) and telling john to meet him at the well, after which he simply dragged his best friend over to minato's place as per the directions he was given.

it's less dragging and more walking with, since john never puts up That much of a fight if dave digs his heels in about something but whatever.

[For once he's not super jovial, but rather he's a little unhappy even as he follows Dave into Minato's house. He's a little confused about this statue business, but John being John still lets out an amused little huff when Dave rambles on.]

Basilisks only petrify people, dummy. They don't turn them into statues. [He waves at Minato, too.] Hey.

[Yeah, it's all good, Minato will be standing out waiting for them, hands in his pockets as he leans against the wall of his current abode.

[He will lead them to the Vriska statue! Which is apparently chilling not far away, in front of the house. Thanks, Vriska. Blankets have, of course, very carefully been tucked around the Vriska statue in case she somehow gets cold like that, and there is also a sign torn from notepaper that says "Please do not touch".

[There's an almost wounded look but he lets himself be tugged away. He still doesn't know how he feels about Vriska Serket most days, but this doesn't leave him feeling warm and fuzzy.]

Vriska would definitely try to do something by herself if she thought it'd matter. [It's a slight mumble.] I haven't checked in with her for a while. Maybe we should have? I do not know how you could just turn a person into a statue without anybody else noticing though.

It's the first I have heard of it, too. And we would not have heard of it unless you said something to Keith. Failing a quest and turning into a statue makes sense. Are we sure that she's not just under that rock?

We are not going to potentially break her, it was just a suggestion. But I do hope she's the only statue we have here.

I don't know... I haven't heard of this happening to anyone else. Midoriya-kun seemed surprised as well when he came over, and between all of us, I think we would've heard.

Yeah. I assume our social circles cover most of the damn town when combined...and dangers people face here hasn't been a topic most people have been cagey about. [ a pause. ] I could always try to fail a quest? We could knock that out as a possibility if nothing happened.

What about if you don't do that? [Lightly, but he's not super thrilled about that either.] I think we should probably not test the failure theory ourselves until we really have to. But we could ask around anyway and see if anyone else has failed. While people are forthcoming about dangers I am not so sure they'd be as upfront about messing up.

Let's wait on testing causes until we find a way to cure it, okay...? I think that's what we should focus on.

Everyone who lives alone maybe should get checked on today. Any of the loners could've frozen up without anyone noticing.

I agree. I kind of hope a lot of people aren't living alone for that reason. As for a cure...I don't even know who can really use magic here. Not the kind that would help, at least.

Yeah, that's a good idea too... somehow, we'll have to be careful of things like that.

What all healing magic is that? I don't think I know of any other healers except for one I've only talked to on the network who ain't really my biggest fan.

The... usual kind? [Are there a lot of kinds of healing magic...] I can usually heal injuries and also status ailments, but none of that has worked here.

The kinda naggy one yeah. I think she'd help if we really did need, but if your rpg magic ain't working on this I dunno why hers would. [ he huffs a sigh. while hanging off john so probably at john. ]
